See message below regarding an upcoming 7's camp in Des Moines, IA. This is a great opportunity to improve your rugby by receiving instruction from some of the best coaches/players in the USA.
There will be several current and former USA Eagles 7's players coaching at this camp as well as the current USA Eagles 7's Coach, Al Caravelli. In addition Iowa native and current Cal Berkley Assistant Coach, Tom Billups will be there. Tom Billups was a USA Eagle Player and former Head Coach of the USA Eagles.
Opportunities like this don't come along too often, and Des Moines isn't too far of a drive from the Chicago area.
With you,
Coach Alex
With the July 10, 2011 registration deadline approaching, I wanted to make sure you were all aware of the opportunity for high school through U20 players, coaches of all levels, and referees to come to Des Moines and be trained by Cal Varsity Coach Tom Billups, Eagles Paul Emerick, Mark Bokhoven, Zach Test, and Colin Hawley before being seen by Al Caravelli at the concluding 7s Tournament on Saturday the 16th only a few hours away in Des Moines this summer.
This is a huge opportunity for players in our region to learn and compete in front of our Nation's best coaches and players.
Players can register individually at www.iahsra.org/summercamp and we can offer team discounts depending on how many players and coaches you are bringing.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Hope we may see some of you and your players in a few weeks!
Chris Draper Director of Development 515 210-0214 chris@iahsra.org

Where: Community Park (same place as last year's scrimmage vs Montini and Alumni Game) - Community Park is located Northeast of the intersection of Geneva Rd and Schamle Rd (Home Depot at this Intersection) - From Schamle Rd... Turn East on Thornhill Drive - Follow Thornhill Drive to the end (less than 1 mile) and you will come to Community Park - We will be using the larger of the two fields... north of the tennis courts - Park in the circular parking lot at the park
What to Bring: Please bring Running Shoes as well as your cleats. If the field is too muddy we will run on the tennis courts and/or parking lot. Make sure you bring fluids to rehydrate yourself before, during, and after practice. You will also want to dress for the weather. Making sure to dress in layers so that you can take off a layer as you get hot and put it back on when you get cold. Having something warm/dry to change into after practice is also a key to staying healthy. Lastly, please plan your bathroom stop ahead of arriving at the field... as the facilities at the field are likely closed until warmer weather.
Practices will continue on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays through out the season (see Calendar for more info). In a few weeks we will push back practice start time to 4:30pm and go until 6:30pm (see Calendar for more info).
If practice is cancelled for any reason, it will be posted to this website by no later than 2 PM the day of practice.
